Conversation KPPS into RPM


on the torque vs speed curves, the X axis is marked with kpps (kilo pulse per second) or pps (pulse per second).
The following example explains the conversion into revolution per second and revolution per minute (RPM).

 

   
red = Speed at 1 kpps
blue = Torque Full Step (1.8°)
green = Torque Half Step (0.9°)
Y-Axis = Torque (Nm)
X-Axis = Speed (kpps)
   
1 kpps = 1000 pps (pulse per second)
 
 
 
 
 
 


Number of Steps per Revolution:

(2-Phase Step Motor with Step Angle = 1.8°)
Full Step 1.8° → 360° / 1.8° = 200 Steps per Revolution
Half Step 0.9° → 360 / 0.9°   = 400 Steps per Revolution

Speed at 1 kpps (1000 pps):
Full Step 1.8° → 1000 pps / 200 Steps = 5 Rev. per Second x 60 = 300 RPM
Half Step 0.9° → 1000 pps / 400 Steps = 2.5 Rev. per Second x 60 = 150 RPM

3 Nm Torque at 1 kpps = 300 RPM in Full Step Mode (blue Line) and
