Our Step Motors can deliver torques of around 10 Nm. To achieve even higher torques, Planetary Gears can be flange-mounted to the Step Motor. In addition to an increase in torque, higher axial and radial forces can also be absorbed due to the construction of the gears. In addition, the overall running smoothness is increased by the damping effect of the gearbox.
Planetary gearheads have a compact design and the advantage that the output shaft is centered (lies on the same axis as the Step Motor shaft). The backlash is much lower and the running smoothness is much higher compared to for example spur gears.
Our Planetary Gearheads are available as 1, 2 and 3 stage gearheads. The gear reduction ranges from i = 3 to i = 512. A maximum torque of up to 130 Nm is achieved, depending on the reduction ratio and output speed.
Step Motors with flange-mounted Planetary Gears are used wherever something has to be positioned very precisely with controllable speed and very high torque, e.g. in medical technology, precision mechanics, mechanical engineering, laser technology, food industry, raw material processing, wood industry, etc.
