Driver Electronics

Driver Electronics are required to operate a Step Motor. By means of a pulse (clock) from an controller, the Driver Electronics (called Driver for short) suplies the previously setting motor current to the corresponding motor coils so that the Step Motor shaft rotates by the number of pulses entered at the pulse input (one pulse = one step). The Driver generates the previously setting step angle by supliers the motor currents to the respective motor coils.

Full step, Half step, Micro step:

In order to achieve smoother operation, Drivers with microstepping capability are used. In this case, the phase current of the respective motor winding is not only switched on and off, but also controlled with a sine wave offset by 90° to each other. A full step is thus divided into many small individual steps. Step resolutions from full step to 1/50 step can be set. For a Step Motor with 1.8° full step angle, this corresponds to a maximum resolution of 10000 steps per revolution.

Automatic motor setup:

When the driver is switched on, an automatic motor setup detects the motor and automatically adjusts the operating parameters. Protection against over- and undervoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature are standard, as well as an active ballast circuit and automatic current reduction at standstill. Our drivers have absolute low-noise and low-resonance operation and high torque consistency from step to step. Mounting is either by wall or DIN rail mounting. All connectors are front detachable.
